About Me

My name is Rob Munk and I’m an economist for the U.S Census Bureau, but any views or opinions expressed here are entirely my own. My research primarily focuses on the economics of self-employment and business ownership from a labor economics perspective, but more generally I’ve always been interested in topics related to labor supply. This blog represents my attempts to explore my research interests and experiment with new techniques. In particular, I have a growing interest in data science and visualizations.

While I’m still adjusting to the idea of having guilt-free, free time, I’ve taken to riding my Dad’s old Schwinn and trying (and failing) to raise house plants. If you like what you read, feel free to reach out on twitter or contact me through my personal website, robmunk.com.
